How the Regions Have Fared….cumulative GDP changes by region

Regional Cumulative GDP Changes

  1. Hi Mike,

I heard or read somewhere recently (I forget which – advancing years)…..that the divide between “LondonAndTheSouthEast” and “TheRestOfTheUK” is more typical of a developing than a developed nation; with a wider split than any other European nation.

Living in the North West and travelling to “The South” for most of our work – I can concur that the graph certainly ‘feels’ true!

Given the link between inequality and lack of national happiness, this is not good news for anyone, no matter where in the UK they live.

    Ems x
