{"id":1267,"date":"2008-04-07T15:51:34","date_gmt":"2008-04-07T15:51:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localenterprise.wordpress.com\/?p=48"},"modified":"2008-04-07T15:51:34","modified_gmt":"2008-04-07T15:51:34","slug":"enterprise-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/realisedevelopment.net\/index.php\/2008\/04\/07\/enterprise-reports\/","title":{"rendered":"Enterprise Reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>March and April seems to have been a busy month for the publication of a range of papers relevant to community based enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>First we had the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hm-treasury.gov.uk\/budget\/budget_08\/documents\/bud_bud08_enterprise.cfm\">Enterprise White Paper<\/a> &#8211; more spelling mistakes than original ideas &#8211; what a disapointment &#8211; or have I missed something?\u00a0 Supposed highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improving access to finance for SME&#8217;s (now where have I heard that before?)<\/li>\n<li>A consultation on the introduction of regulatory budgets, which would cap the new annually recurring cost of regulation for business, including whether to pilot this approach on SME&#8217;s or a particular sector;<\/li>\n<li>Increased focus in minimising the impact of regulation on SME&#8217;s (ditto)<\/li>\n<li>Independent review of regulatory guidance (ditto)<\/li>\n<li>Further development of enterprise education on secondary schools and extension of it, where possible, into primary and further education (underpinned by a \u00a3210 million funding package, as agreed at the 2007 CSR); and<\/li>\n<li>Establishment of a National Enterprise Academy (NEA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then we had a report from the New Economics Foundation &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.neweconomics.org\/gen\/z_sys_PublicationDetail.aspx?PID=250\">Hitting the Target.
