Seems ironic that I\u00a0should\u00a0pick up on this on a day when I have been quoting Barack Obama on real change being a grass-roots phenomena<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It seems that someone has decided that the ‘regeneration’ that is underway at Tower Works in Leeds<\/a> needs to catch the eye a little more. \u00a0So why not install a grass mosaic spelling out TRANSFORM<\/a> so as to be visible from the top of nearby local landmark the Candle Building<\/a>. \u00a0Why not indeed? \u00a0Such metaphorical power…..<\/p>\n

I am surprised that they did not use Astroturf. \u00a0At least it has no pretence at being grass-roots and can be laid quite happily on concrete. \u00a0The grass-roots here are destined to whither.<\/p>\n

Regeneration is not about buildings and developers. \u00a0It is about people, passion, skills and aspirations. \u00a0It is about community, networks and creativity. \u00a0In s<\/p>\n
