{"id":1750,"date":"2008-04-10T12:49:57","date_gmt":"2008-04-10T11:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/progmanager.wordpress.com\/?p=329"},"modified":"2008-04-10T12:49:57","modified_gmt":"2008-04-10T11:49:57","slug":"time-management-resource","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/realisedevelopment.net\/index.php\/2008\/04\/10\/time-management-resource\/","title":{"rendered":"Time Management Resource"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/progmanager.wordpress.com\/progressive-managers-network-events\/effective-time-management-for-progressive-managers\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-330\" src=\"http:\/\/progmanager.files.wordpress.com\/2008\/04\/clocksweb.jpg\" alt=\"Time Management by the Hour\" width=\"300\" height=\"222\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A new manifesto has just been published on time management over at the Change This site.<\/p>\n<p>In essence it recommends forgetting about tips, tricks and gizmos &#8211; instead building a really solid understanding of the 7 fundamental practices of time management;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Capturing &#8211; making sure that all calls on your time are captured in a system &#8211; not in your brain<\/li>\n<li>Emptying &#8211; making sure that whatever you use to capture calls on your time (e-mail inboxes, in-trays, calendars etc) are regularly emptied &#8211; ie the calls on your time are put into a system<\/li>\n<li>Tossing &#8211; getting rid of as much of the demands on your time as possible &#8211; being rigorous &#8211; but not ruthless in managing your time commitments &#8211; saying no!<\/li>\n<li>Storing &#8211; putting useful information in a place where you can safely retrieve it as needed &#8211; this does not mean relying on your memory (&#8216;tickler&#8217; files work well here!)<\/li>\n<li>Acting Now! &#8211; doing whatever you can right now &#8211; especially if it will only take a few minutes &#8211; avoid procrastination.
