{"id":480,"date":"2011-02-02T13:18:28","date_gmt":"2011-02-02T13:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leedscd.wordpress.com\/?p=480"},"modified":"2011-02-02T13:18:28","modified_gmt":"2011-02-02T13:18:28","slug":"fairness-and-equality-cannot-drive-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/realisedevelopment.net\/index.php\/2011\/02\/02\/fairness-and-equality-cannot-drive-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Fairness and equality cannot drive development&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Community development cannot be driven by values such as &#8216;fairness&#8217; or &#8216;equality&#8217;. \u00a0However much we might want it to be.<\/p>\n<p>If it were, then when we a\u00a0community\u00a0reached &#8216;the average&#8217; all development would have to stop. \u00a0Otherwise continued progress would only serve to introduce new inequalities. \u00a0Thankfully this is not how society works.<\/p>\n<p>Sustained development is driven by people in the community who just care about making things better.
