{"id":636,"date":"2011-06-10T07:47:53","date_gmt":"2011-06-10T07:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leedscd.wordpress.com\/?p=636"},"modified":"2011-06-10T07:47:53","modified_gmt":"2011-06-10T07:47:53","slug":"what-can-we-do-about-child-poverty-in-leeds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/realisedevelopment.net\/index.php\/2011\/06\/10\/what-can-we-do-about-child-poverty-in-leeds\/","title":{"rendered":"What Can We do About Child Poverty in Leeds?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since I posted my blog on <a href=\"http:\/\/leedscd.wordpress.com\/2011\/06\/09\/poor-kids-in-leeds\/\">Poor Kids in Leeds<\/a> I have been asked again and again what can we do about it?<\/p>\n<p>Seems that people aren&#8217;t satisfied by the platitudes of writing to\u00a0councillors\u00a0and MPs or throwing a fiver at the usual charities &#8211; they\u00a0want\u00a0to do something.<\/p>\n<p>One of the things that we can do is get a group together, get more informed about what is already being done in the city, and come up with innovative ideas and suggestions for more things that we can do.<\/p>\n<p>So if you can offer a little time to help please leave a comment below.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any specific skills or knowledge that you can offer, or other resources that might be useful, like meeting rooms for example, then please do mention that too.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone can help with this. \u00a0We are not necessarily looking for\u00a0specialist\u00a0knowledge and skills (lets face it &#8216;the professionals&#8217; have hardly got this one covered), we are just looking for people that give a damn and can offer time and imagination.<\/p>\n<p>So please sign up using the\u00a0comment\u00a0form below if you\u00a0want\u00a0to have a bash at this.
